Charles E. Melissa, 94, formerly of Mt. Prospect, passed away January 26, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Pearl Melissa, nee Burtyk. Loving father of Valerie (the late John) Soltysiak, Nancy (Todd) Gassen. Cherished grandfather of Susan Soltysiak, Kaylee and Matthew Gassen. Dear brother of Sister Gertrude Melissa, the late Shirley Melissa and the late Robert Melissa.
He was born October 29, 1923 and grew up in Iselin, PA.
Charles served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He was an accountant, first at Old Ben Coal Co. and then BP America before his retirement.
Visitation Thursday, 9:30 A.M. until Funeral Services 10:30 A.M. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. (at Northwest Highway) Mt. Prospect.
Interment All Saints Cemetery.
